Movie review: Annie Hall

A gem of a movie, the story of a regular girl who says la-di-da.
It’s a movie of the 70s , very much relevant 40 yrs .or so later. I am not just referring to the fashion but also to the little things that go on inside a person’s head-their insecurities, their little shortcomings, them being honest to oneself and dubious of their own intentions. Annie Hall is rare, unique , yet parts of her are all of us-we the women. The story is both a love story and story of lovers-parted. Yet it doesn’t make you sad, some parts of it keep you at edge though. This movie is especially for you if rom coms don’t resonate with you . It is the superlative of a rom com , not to say any less of rom coms but this story has a twist that unqualifies it for a rom-com yet has the entertainment -quotient of 10 rom-coms in a go. Very classy, very hippie, this is a movie for us lovers of the bohemian fashion clad in sophistication. The story fabricated by Woody Allen is by far the most delightful. Brilliant performances that make you forget that they are performing after all. I d give this movie a 10 on 10.
